CarmelFest 4th of July Parade
Final Parade Details:
Please sign up to help with supplies:
- Rehearsal and t-shirt pick up at CHS between 9:30am – 11am for anyone who is in town. Bring your signed parade waiver form to Mrs. Kouns. Enter through door 27 starting around 9:20am.
- Float Decoration starting at 2pm at the Magee’s House, 10575 Power Dr. Carmel, IN 46033 for anyone who is available. Bring your swimsuits to enjoy a fun pool party after decorating. Bring your signed waiver and pick up your t-shirt if you didn’t do it on Monday.
- We will have extra t-shirts at the staging area for those who don’t pick them up on Monday or Tuesday. Just in case we run out of shirts, please wear a red shirt or a Carmel Choirs shirt. Please go all out with your red, white, & blue in the rest of your attire. Wear comfortable walking shoes, LOTS of sunscreen, sunglasses, etc. Be sure to bring a small tote-bag or reusable grocery bag to hold candy to pass out. You also MUST have a water bottle! Start hydration now.
**Bring your signed waiver form if you haven’t yet turned it in.
Meet in the staging area at 9:00am at the south end of Merchants Square off 116th Street. We are Parade Unit #24. We will have some volunteers “wearing” the large American Flag in the parade, others will be passing out candy, and others will just be walking and waving. Everyone will be singing and dancing!
When there is a median in the road on Rangeline, our entire group will go to the right.
Do not enter from Carmel Drive. This causes much confusion and backing up of large vehicles. We would recommend carpooling and leaving some vehicles in the Carmel HS Parking lot so that you can get rides back to 116th St. after the parade. Shuttle vans will also be available at the southwest corner of Carmel High School, between door 7 and 8, to return individuals to Merchants Square during the entire parade (running approximately every 15 minutes).
The parade will start promptly at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 4th, rain or shine.
Please take some time this week to practice the three songs for the parade. Sheet music and recordings can be found below.
If you are out of town and cannot make it to the rehearsal on Monday or the float decoration on Tuesday, but you are still prepared to participate, please still show up on Wednesday and join us…but don’t forget your parade waiver!
**If under 18 years old, this requires parental signature. Please bring signed, completed waiver with you on the morning of the parade.
